Protest/Anti-War--Debate Teams
Get your arguments ready..beacuse we are ready to debate!!! The debate will be next class, so now is the time to coordinate with your debate teams and organize your thesis and five (5) arguments. Make sure you have your team order already established. Remember- your team is allowed to display visuals as evidence!! Blog Adjourned!
Essence of War
"Yo ho yo ho, a pirate's life for me" You all expanded your horizons and stepped outside of your comfort zone today!!! We collaboratively learned about how the United States got involved in the Vietnam War. We did Think-Pair-Share throughout the instruction in your collaborative teams of two. Everyone had so many thought provoking questions and opinions!!!!

Television and Music transformed during this period of time. Music themes talke of love and happiness at the beginning of the war and changed to anti-war, guns, and frustration. We analyzed a variety of photographs taken during war time (website = www.vietnampix.com). Everyone brought in wonderful examples of war pictures to analyze!

Visions of War, Dreams of Peace
Today we explored the experiences of the Vietnam War through the eyes of women. Their poems expressed sorrows, hope, dreams, sadness and peace. We compared issues of gender, age and life experience and you discovered that these things go out the window when one goes to war.

EXTRA! EXTRA!
Today we uncovered the tricks of the trade of effective propaganda. War propaganda was an intrical part in sparking outrage or excitement, but we learned how word selection, size, and design play such a crucial role in grabbing an individuals attention. We experienced how two people can read the same sentence or comic strip but sound so different!
